Questions

Is a secured card the same as a credit-builder loan?

No. A secured card is a revolving line of credit backed by a deposit. A credit-builder loan is an installment loan, and the money is usually held until you finish your payments.

Will one of these products raise my score?

No one can promise that. These accounts may help if they are reported to all three bureaus and paid as agreed, but results depend on your full credit file.

Should I open both?

Not automatically. Opening several new accounts at once adds new accounts and recent inquiries. Talk with your credit repair team about timing before you apply.
