Rapid Rescore Explained
Learn what a rapid rescore is, who can order one, and why it reflects only documented changes.
What is inside
- What a rapid rescore is and who can order it
- Which documented changes it can reflect, and which it cannot
- Questions to ask your lender before one is requested
Who it is for: Clients working with a lender on a home loan, and owners who explain the process without promising a score change.
Questions
Can I order a rapid rescore myself?
No. Only a lender can request one through a credit reporting agency. Ask your loan officer whether one would help with your file.
Will a rapid rescore raise my score?
It can only reflect documented changes. Nobody can promise a higher score, and the result can go up, down or stay the same.
How is it different from a dispute?
A dispute challenges information you believe is inaccurate. A rapid rescore is a lender request to update the report with documented changes.
