Is there a required wording for a 609 request?
The statute does not prescribe a magic wording. Identify the consumer, request the file disclosure and include the identification the bureau requires. Verify with the current official text.
Can a 609 letter get an item removed?
Not by itself. Removal is addressed through reinvestigation of inaccurate or unverifiable information under 15 U.S.C. 1681i.
